AAALP is pleased to share the launch of Stronger Together US’s new open-source Responsible Recruitment and Fair Work Toolkit for Employers and Labor Providers in U.S. Fresh Produce.
This practical resource is designed to support growers, farm labor contractors (FLCs), recruiters, and other businesses in taking meaningful action to reduce labor risks, promote ethical recruitment, and build stronger, more resilient supply chains.
The Toolkit is also now recognized as part of the Advanced Engagement Star in the Ethical Charter Implementation Program (ECIP).
A Management Systems Approach
Aligned with international and U.S. labor standards, the Toolkit follows a clear, six-step management systems approach to embedding responsible recruitment and fair work. This structured process supports businesses of all sizes in implementing scalable, sustainable practices—whether they’re just getting started or refining existing systems. The Toolkit includes step-by-step guidance, checklists, and customizable templates to support good labor practices across the employment cycle—from recruitment through to grievance mechanisms and access to remedy. It’s a practical resource for continuous improvement and measurable impact.
Why It Matters
With increasing expectations from buyers and consumers—and amid an evolving political climate—businesses are called upon to demonstrate ethical, legal, and transparent labor practices. Strengthening labor supply chains through responsible recruitment and fair work is not only the right thing to do—it’s also a strategic advantage. Proactive action can help businesses avoid costly risks, strengthen brand credibility, and unlock new market opportunities.
